The past few weeks have seen the Music Copyright of Kenya come under sharp criticism over accusations of corruption from artists after receiving what they termed as peanuts for royalties. The body which is in charge of ensuring that places of entertainment, media houses, events, places of businesses from kiosks to barber shops, have licenses to play local music and protect artists from exploitation, has this week seen a different turn of events as artists came out to express their dis satisfaction. And Friday, a section of the producers and artists met to seek a way forward and air their grievances.
