Cord leader Raila Odinga now says Kenya needs ‘salvation’ to heal from rampant corruption and misuse of power. He said the country was on the brink of collapse if issues affecting the Kenyan people were not tackled. “Our country needs salvation.

The deeply-rooted corruption is destabilising us,” he said. Speaking in Kisumu during the Okoa Kenya forum with MPs, MCAs and governors from Nyanza, the former Prime Minister said he is determined to see Kenya freed from corruption.

“If you look at the NYS scandal and Eurobond, then Kenya needs salvation through the Okoa Kenya referendum,” said Raila.

He expressed hope that Okoa Kenya will succeed in delivering Kenya adding that a majority of governors and MCAs have vowed to support the referendum. He urged MCAs and governors to be on the forefront in crusading for the campaign.

The Cord leader said there is need to amend the Constitution to restore good governance. “We need to change some clauses for the betterment of our people,” he added.

Raila urged Kenyans to remain vigilant on devolution which is under attack by a few individuals in government. He said the Kisumu meeting was the first of a series of meetings to drum up support for Okoa Kenya.
