Labour Party of Kenya leader Ababu Namwamba yesterday said he is not depending on Orange Democratic Movement boss Raila Odinga to be elected as Budalang’i Member of Parliament.
He said he was elected as the area representative in the 2013 General Election not because of the party but because he “is popular and loved” by residents.“I am not depending on Raila to be elected as the MP for Budalangi,” he said during a public rally at Port Victoria Mixed Primary School.
It was his first public function since the official launch of the party in Nairobi two months ago. He said he wanted to vie for a different political seat in 2017 General Election but he had decided to vie for Budalang’i parliamentary seat to prove his critics wrong.
