The National Aids Control Council has released the annual statistics of the prevalence of the HIV/AIDS virus in the country which reveal a worrying increase in the number of young adolescents contracting the killer disease
Nairobi and Mombasa cities account for more than 50 percent of the new infections.
According to the National Aids Control Council there is a notable increase of new infections among teenagers and young adults between the age of 15 and 24 years in areas that had previously recorded low prevalence rates.
