The government is today making frantic efforts to avert tomorrow's scheduled strike by Kenya Airways pilots that threatens to ground the operations of the national carrier which is already grappling with a multiplicity of problems.
Officials from the Ministries of Labour and Transport are at the moment holding tripartite consultations with representatives of the Kenya Pilots Association- KALPA, and Kenya Airways officials to find a middle ground on the stand-off and avert a full scale strike that could result in total paralysis of the airline's operations.
The move comes in the wake of a go slow by non-unionisable contracted staff including cabin crew that forced the airline to cancel several flights on Sunday.
