Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has told the High Court in Mombasa that a magistrate who released the widow of the slain controversial Muslim cleric on bond, failed to consider the nature of the offence.
Haniya Sagaar is charged with failing to report to police information on the attackers of the Central Police Station.
Assistant DPP Alexander Muteti told judge Dora Chepkwony that Sagaar, if freed, will interfere with prosecution witnesses as well as evidence that is to be used against her. The State has appealed against the release of the suspect by a Shanzu magistrate.

Muteti said the court should not take notice that the accused has young children saying their custody should be handed over to another individual.
