The Parliamentary committee on security has called for the fencing of all police stations and urged National Intelligence Service (NIS) to up intelligence gathering to counter mutating terrorist cells in the wake of an attack on Central Police Station by suspected female terrorists. Committee chairman Asman Kamama commended the police for moving swiftly to arrest the situation.

He asked police to be extremely alert following the change of tactics by terrorists in their raids so as to deal with all threats. Kamama said reporting desks in all police stations should be protected by armed police officers because police were increasingly becoming targets of attacks by terrorists.

“We want security within and around police stations beefed up by even fencing off,” he said. Kandara MP Alice Wahome, a member of the committee said NIS must improve its approach in intelligence gathering so as to prevent future attacks.
