A consignment of 5,000 laptops arrived today at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport from China to be distributed to 370 public primary schools across the country.
The arrival of the gadgets comes after the ministry of ICT completed the pilot phase of the Digital Literacy program that began in April with 12,000 devices targeting 150 public primary schools in all the 47 counties.
According to the Principal Secretary for ICT and Innovation, Engineer Victor Kyalo this now officially marks the beginning of the implementation of the free laptop program.
