Deputy President William Ruto has directed Kiambu County Commissioner Alex Nkoyo to work over-drive with a view to ending insecurity in the area. He said insecurity in the area was on the rise noting that the government had deployed thousands of police officers and added 100 police patrol vehicles in the county whose state of security is mostly compromised by its proximity to Nairobi.
The DP said the National government is committed in protecting the lives and property of all Kenyans in order for them to create wealth in a conducive environment. He was speaking at Wangige trading centre in Kabete sub-county on Sunday when he also said that he and President Uhuru Kenyatta are determined to unite Kenyans.
Ruto who was flanked by Kiambu Governor William Kabogo, Senator Kimani Wamatangi, Women Rep Annah Nyokabi and a host of local MPs urged Kenyans to be wary of political leaders who thrive on dividing them along tribal lines.
He said the main agenda of the Jubilee administration is to unite Kenyans, as it is the only way the country can move forward. Ruto dismissed the Opposition as a clique of confused individuals who have no idea about leadership.
Ruto said the difference between the Jubilee administration and Cord was ‘like day and night’ adding that Kenya can only be led by focused leaders and not power-hungry individuals. He dismissed those claiming that the government is buying Opposition MPs noting that no such market exists in the current world.
