The government has disbanded the department of refugee affairs, as it prepares to close down the Daadab and Kakuma refugee camps which host over five hundred thousand refugees and asylum seekers. A statement sent to newsrooms from the government says that hosting refugees in the country has become a heavy burden to the country's security and economy, and has asked the international community to collectively take responsibility on humanitarian needs arising out of its action.
