The government has began pulling down illegal and condemned buildings in Nairobi in the wake of last week's Huruma building tragedy that has so far claimed the lives of 40 people.
Bulldozers from the department of public works and the Nairobi county government demolished several houses in Huruma estate which are among 78 buildings declared unsafe for human habitation.
The Nairobi county government had on Thursday given occupants of the affected houses a 48 hour notice to vacate-- a notice that was defied capturing most residents unaware.
