Seven former tender committee members at Geothermal Development Company facing corruption charges now want their prosecution stopped.
The members who were charged alongside suspended managing director Silas Simiyu and the company secretary Praxidis Namoni Saisi claim that their prosecution was vitiated by numerous illegalities as far as Public Procurement and Disposal Act, 2005 is concerned.
The High Court last month prohibited Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko from prosecuting Saisi over the Sh42 million fraud case. The seven tender committee members; Peter Ayodo Omenda, Nicholas Karume Weke, Caleb Indiantsi Mbayi, Abraham kipchirchir Saat, Michael Maingi Mbevi, Godwin Mwagae Mwawongo and Bruno Mugambi Linyiru now claim that their continued prosecution when the charges facing Saisi have been quashed is prejudicial.
