Garissa Governor Nathif Jama has lost bid to stop his prosecution on corruption charges after the High Court dismissed his application.
But he obtained temporary orders stopping his immediate arrest. Through his lawyer, Nathif applied for stay orders so as to appeal Justice Weldon Korir’s judgment.
Justice Korir dismissed the suit stating that the case had no merit and the matters raised can only be determined by a trial court.
In the case, Jama argued that the criminal charges were filed in bad faith as he does not sit in the county tender committee and is not a member of the procurement team.
