Two Kenya Power technicians were nearly electrocuted after power was switched on “accidentally” as they installed a new meter. In a short video clip doing the rounds on social media, Felix Odhiambo, 22, and Peter Ongeri, 30, can be heard calling for help after the Sunday evening incident at Nakuru’s Industrial Area.
The two were part of a team from two private firms contracted to repair power lines and install new meters in Nakuru town. Speaking to the press at his hospital bed, Odhiambo cited negligence and lack of communication on the part of Kenya Power supervisors on site. Nakuru Police Commander Hassan Barua said police have launched investigations into the incident.
