Locals allege graft in Kitengela stalls allocation.

Kitengela town residents and the business community have raised the red flag over alleged graft in the allocation of stalls in the yet-to-be opened Kitengela bus park. They are pointing accusing fingers at some county officials, who are allegedly minting money from gullible traders with the promise of allocating them stalls.

This comes as area Member of the County Assembly (MCA) Daniel Kanchori claimed that 70 per cent of the stalls should be allocated to Sholinke area residents while remaining 30 per cent go to other business people.

Controversy is threatening the allocation of the 100 stalls at the Sh88 million bus park similar to the one that rocked the Kitengela market stalls with claims that some well-connected county officials are brazenly demanding bribes ranging from Sh100,000 to Sh200,000 for the stalls. Kajiado East administrator Moses Meeli urged the public not to pay for the stalls saying those who will be found guilty of taking bribes will be prosecuted.
