Nine Kajiado county executive members have been transferred to other ministries following a public outcry over alleged incompetence.
Governor David Nkedianye said the shake-up is aimed at improving service delivery and will be used as a performance gauge to the affected officers.
“We have considered a reshuffle of the ministers a move that will aid in improving services. We will no longer tolerate poor service delivery by executive officers and performing is a must.
The reshuffle is a gauge of performance,” said Nkedianye. He said the reshuffle will also aid in fighting cartels that had started infiltrating departments because the officers stayed too long in one ministry.
Some of the affected ministries include, Education, ICT, Public Service, Water, Agriculture and that of Livestock. The ministries of Trade and Lands were also affected.
