Three suspected wildlife trophy hunters were yesterday evening arrested in Mombasa County with game trophies worth over one million Kenyan shillings. Kenya Wildlife Service Police officers who were acting on a tip off recovered a leopard skin and a rhino horn that were being auctioned in the black market. Two of the suspects were arrested in possession of a rhino horn weighing 1.5 kilograms whose estimated value is 11.5 million shillings. The other suspect was nubbed separately with a leopard skin said to have originated from Western Kenya. According to KWS officers, the skin's value is estimated at between 12 to 15 thousand shillings . The suspects are being held at the KWS headquarters in Mombasa for further questioning before being charged.
