The Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko has recommended that Ruaraka MP Tom Kajwang' be charged with abuse of office.
But it was a sigh of relief to former Home Affairs Permanent Secretary Dr Ludeki Chweya and members of the Deposit Protection Fund Board (DPB) when Tobiko cleared them off any wrongdoing.
Kajwang' is likely to be charged with knowingly facilitating the employment of Evelyn Achieng Osogo as a research assistant at the constituency office and a personal assistant by the Parliamentary Service Commission, hence drawing two salaries.
Osogo is also accused of unlawfully acquiring public property.
Chweya, was being investigated by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) of allegedly embezzling Sh 116 million meant for the construction of prison houses by the Ministry of Housing.
On the other hand, DPB were being investigated over the alleged change of hands of plot number L.R 209/1069 where the Integrity Centre, which houses EACC, stands, to private ownership under unclear circumstances.
The DPP recommended that both files should be closed for lack of evidence of criminal culpability.
Tobiko also recommended for the prosecution of Isiolo County officials, comprising Humphrey Maina (head Treasury), Abdi Baru (chief warden, Buffalo, Springs and Shaba national reserve, Hadija Halake (Human (human resource/payroom manager, Jesse Iringu Kariuki (works officer) and Ali Godana Huka (volunteer at the cleark's office.
Others are director of Shamaalab Abdullahi Abdi, Abdillahi Abdi, Shamsha Hussein Lukuman and Shaban Abdullahi Ali.
